You’ll need two passport-sized photos that meet the requirements for a Swedish visa application.

• You must have a valid passport that meets a few requirements:
  • The visa-required passport should contain a minimum of two blank pages.
  • The passport must not exceed 10 years from the date of issuance.
  • The passport must remain valid for a minimum of three months.

• If you’ve previously been issued visas for Sweden, please provide copies of them.
• It would help if you had health insurance for your entire stay in Sweden and the other Schengen countries, with at least €30,000 of coverage.
• Must have dummy flight tickets for visa application. A document that shows you have a booked flight to enter and leave Sweden. This document should specify all the flight numbers, dates, and details.
• You’ll need to show proof of your accommodations in Sweden, such as a hotel reservation.
• You must provide proof that you have enough money to support yourself during your whole stay in Sweden, currently set at 450 SEK or €48.26 per day.
• Including a personal cover letter explaining your trip purpose, the length of your stay, your travel plans, and other relevant details is recommended.
• To verify your civil status, it may be necessary to furnish certain documents such as a marriage certificate, a birth certificate for your offspring, or a death certificate for a former spouse.
• If you are employed, you’ll need to provide proof of your employment, such as an employment certificate or a No Objection Certificate (NOC), along with your pay slips from the last three months.
• If you own a business, you’ll need to provide a cover letter on your company’s letterhead, your company’s original bank statement from the past three months (with a bank seal and signature), proof of paid income tax for the past three years, and any relevant documents such as a company memo, partnership deal, establishment license, or proprietorship.
• If you’re being sponsored, you’ll need to provide proof of sponsorship and accommodation by completing a national form of the Schengen State concerned (you can find this form on the website of the Member State of your destination).
• If you are a retired applicant, you must provide proof of retirement and pension statements for the past three months. Additionally, you must provide evidence of regular income generated through property or business ownership. 
• All applicants must provide biometric information, effective November 2nd, 2015.

Additional Documents Requirements For Minors

If you’re a minor or a parent applying for a minor’s short-stay visa to Sweden, there are some additional Swedish visa requirements that you’ll need to include in your application file. These requirements are in addition to the standard application process.

If you are traveling with a minor to Sweden, you will need to make sure you have the following documents:

• Child’s birth certificate
• A court order from the family court indicates that only one parent has been granted full custody.
• A visa application form that has been filled out and signed by both parents or the legal guardian.
• Minor Consent Form that both parents or legal guardians have signed.
• Copies of both parents’ or legal guardians’ passports, PAN cards, or other identification documents, along with the pictures and signatures.
• If the minor is traveling with someone else, you will need:
  • The accompanying person’s passport and visa copies
  • A notarized parental authorization letter signed by both parents/guardians allowing the minor to travel to Sweden with the accompanying person

Steps To Apply Online For A Sweden Visa

Step 1: You must prepare the papers to ensure you meet all of the country’s requirements. Many say the payment should be put off until the visa comes. After the paperwork, one must also include the extra certificates.

Step 2: Go to the Swedish Migration Agency’s website online and follow the directions. Then send in your application and all the papers. Lastly, you can check online to see what times are open before making an appointment with the Swedish office and then book a time that works for you.

Step 3: Remember to bring the original papers and a copy of the application form when you go to the embassy. The embassy will ask you to sign an application after a particular round of questions and answers. They might also take a picture of the application and get their fingerprints.

Step 4: The government decides within 15 days. While the process is going on, they keep the passport. The visa processing time also depends on the type of visa you have applied for. They’ll put a visa sticker on the passport when they decide and ask for it back.
