A new direct route on the map
LOT Polish Airlines confirms that a new Warsaw–Stavanger connection begins on 24 November 2025, offering a permanent, year-round service. Four weekly flights will be available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. The route will be operated by Boeing 737-800 and MAX 8 aircraft, providing both comfort and capacity for growing demand. Flight times are designed to maximize convenience: morning departures from Warsaw allow passengers to arrive in Norway before noon, while return flights from Stavanger early in the afternoon mean travelers can return home with enough daylight left. This launch highlights LOT’s ongoing strategy of expanding into Nordic markets, strengthening cultural and economic ties between Poland and Norway, and offering a reliable alternative to indirect connections that often involve long layovers. For both leisure and visiting-friends-and-relatives (VFR) traffic, the predictability of year-round operation means more planning freedom, especially during winter holidays and shoulder seasons.
Stavanger’s call: Fjords, cliffs, and culture
The new service places Stavanger firmly within reach of Polish and Central European travelers. As the gateway to Lysefjord, it is one of Norway’s most dramatic coastal cities. Iconic hikes such as Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock) and Kjeragbolten bring adventurers year-round, with winter gear and guides making access possible even outside the summer season. The region’s sharp cliffs, fjord cruises, and lighthouse trails attract photographers and hikers alike.
Stavanger itself charms with a compact harbour, colourful wooden houses in Gamle Stavanger, and a culinary scene shaped by fresh seafood and local ingredients. Families find entertainment in the Norwegian Petroleum Museum, while history lovers explore monuments like the striking Sverd i fjell (Swords in Rock). Seasonal festivals, from food fairs to jazz events, offer an extra reason to visit beyond the landscapes. With LOT’s schedule, travellers can land in the morning and start exploring immediately, making short breaks just as appealing as extended stays.

Warsaw’s cultural energy on the return
For Norwegian visitors, the route offers a seamless entry into Poland’s capital. Warsaw presents itself as a dynamic mix of tradition and modernity, with world-class museums like POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews and the Warsaw Uprising Museum shedding light on the city’s complex past. Music festivals, from classical Chopin concerts to vibrant electronic nights, keep calendars full throughout the year. Recent urban projects add fresh cultural dimensions: the Metroteka, a newly opened library inside a metro station, surprises travelers with the chance to borrow books during their commute. Architectural contrasts line the streets, with reconstructed Old Town squares standing beside soaring glass towers. Cafés, independent galleries, and riverside walks along the Vistula enrich any visit, whether for a weekend or longer. Thanks to LOT’s afternoon arrivals, Norwegian travellers can connect to Warsaw’s city centre quickly. That makes the new flight a convenient start to cultural discovery.
Practical travel gains and wider connections
Beyond point-to-point demand, the Warsaw–Stavanger route enhances broader travel networks. Warsaw Chopin Airport serves as LOT’s hub, meaning passengers from Stavanger can easily connect onward to destinations across Central and Eastern Europe, as well as to long-haul flights toward Asia or North America. For Poles living in Norway, particularly in Rogaland county, the connection brings family visits within easier reach, while also supporting labour mobility and business exchanges. The roughly two-hour flight shortens travel stress compared to less direct options.
Luggage policies, onboard services, and pricing remain in line with LOT’s existing European routes, allowing travellers to rely on familiar standards. Seasonal weather in both countries may add extra planning steps—snowy mornings in Warsaw or stormy fjord winds near Stavanger—but the reliability of scheduled direct service provides reassurance. In practical terms, the new link acts as a cultural bridge as much as a transport corridor, deepening ties between two regions and opening new opportunities. For both leisure and professional travellers.
